Xeon Workstation

With an innovative compute architecture, faster cores, and new EMIB (Embedded Multi-die Interconnect Bridge) packaging, the Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 processors provide an unprecedented level of scalability to boost performance.

“For more than 20 years, Intel has been committed to providing world-class workstation platforms that combine high performance computing and high stability to professional PC users around the world. Our new Intel Xeon platform is purpose-built to drive innovation and creativity among creative professionals, artists, engineers, designers, data scientists, and power users. It can handle today’s and tomorrow’s most demanding workloads,” said Roger Chandler, Intel vice president and general manager of creative solutions and workstations in the Intel Client Computing group.

The Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 processors provide the advanced computing foundation professionals need today, but also in the future. Compatible with DDR5 RDIMM memory, PCIe Gen 5.0, and Wi-Fi 6E provides the advanced technologies needed to handle tomorrow’s computing workloads. In addition, Intel vPro Enterprise, along with ECC memory and Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) technologies, maximizes workstation uptime so you don’t have to worry about interruptions in your workflow.

Available with 56 cores per socket, the Intel Xeon w9-3495X processor features a redesigned memory controller and larger L3 cache, delivering up to 28% performance gains in single-threaded² and up to 120% in multi-threaded³ over the previous generation next generation. Plus, operating frequencies up to 4.8GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 deliver incredible performance for everyday workloads.

Other platform features include:

  • Up to 105MB L3 cache for performance and data management;
  • Eight channels of DDR5 RDIMM memory that provide up to 4 terabytes of memory capacity and increased bandwidth for processing large datasets and memory-intensive workloads;
  • ECC memory and RAS technologies provide better critical data integrity and system reliability;
  • Up to 112 PCIe Gen 5.0 CPU lanes on Xeon W-3400 processors and up to 64 PCIe Gen 5.0 CPU lanes on Xeon W-2400 processors for multiple GPUs, SSDs, and NICs for configuration flexibility;
  • Built-in Intel® Wi-Fi 6E for the latest networking standard;
  • Comprehensive overclocking is possible for unlocked processors, including industry-first DDR5 XMP 3.0 RDIMM memory overclocking capabilities;
  • Intel® Deep Learning Boost Gen 3 (AMX, Bfloat16), which provides acceleration for significantly more efficient deep learning for AI training and inference;
  • Intel vPro® technologies with hardware-based security features, firmware revision control, and remote management capabilities make it easy to deploy systems in an enterprise environment.

The Xeon W-3400 and W-2400 workstation processors will be available for pre-order from partners on February 15, with system availability beginning in March. MSRP for the Intel Xeon W processor family starts at $359 (Xeon w3-2423) and can go up to $5889 (Xeon w9-3495X).
