These innovations include a revision of the ranking system, which gives more weight and reward for winning matches, as well as a change in the way rank and skill subdivision are presented, as well as the introduction of features such as skill rank forgiveness (SR) and skill protection. Ranking Basics in Call of Duty
Ranked Play is the official 4v4 competitive game for Modern Warfare® IIusing the same official rules, restrictions, maps and mode as call of duty league, presented in more detail here. If the rules of call of duty league undergo changes, they will enter the Ranked Game.
Players must be at least level 16 to access ranked play, but in this mode they will have unlimited items unlocked, including weapons and accessories, so that everyone has an equal opportunity. Just like in Call of DutyLeague, each ranked game will take place on the map and in the mode from the list below:

- Zarkva Hydroelectric Power Plant

By playing matches, you get a Skill Rating (SR), which determines which of the eight divisions the player belongs to:
- Bronze – 0-899 SR
- Silver – 900–2099 SR.
- Gold – 2,100–3,599 CP.
- Platinum – 3600–5399 CP.
- Diamond – 5400–7499 CP.
- Crimson – 7,500–9,999 CP.
- Prismatic – Minimum 10,000 SR
- Top 250 – 10,000+ CP
A player’s SR is primarily dependent on the outcome of each match played, i.e. winning a match, gaining SR, losing a match, losing an SR. Your individual performance and the overall performance of your team affects your SR. In higher divisions, team performance will matter more to provide more rewards for all play styles.
All skill divisions below Iridescent have three levels to advance. These levels have additional detail for each division and help players feel their progress as they level up. They can be thought of as sub-categories of SR in the Skill Division, breaking down the SR range into thirds.
The top 250 players with SR over 10,000 will be placed on the Top 250 leaderboard for all to see.
In the Rating Game Modern Warfare 2 everyone will start with bronze. This means that players will be able to play at any time without ranked matches, allowing the player to compete against anyone present in a ranked game after it launches. As players dedicate themselves and play more, they will advance and develop in skill divisions.
At the end of each Ranked Season, a player’s top division determines which rewards they can receive, as well as where they start the next season:
- The transition from Bronze to Crimson will start with one division down (except for Bronze, which resets at Bronze Tier I) and demotion protection enabled in the first three matches.
- Iridescent and Top 250 start at Skill Division Diamond I, with downgrade protection enabled for a few matches.

Ranked players know that one of the most frustrating moments is when a teammate decides to leave the game at the start of a match or right in the middle of the action. While it’s not possible to prevent players from logging out, this version of Ranked Play introduces some new features to make those moments more manageable:
Firstly, ranked games will not start if the teams are not evenly matched. If a player disconnects or leaves before the match starts, all remaining players will return to the room and the match will not count.
After that, there will be a CP forgiveness: if a player disconnects or leaves the game in the middle of a match, all team members not in that player’s group will not lose ANY CP. Basically, if that 4v4 turns into 3v4 because a teammate lost, SR can still be earned if you can get past the handicap and win the match, but losing with no players will not deduct SR.
As with previous versions of ranked play, penalties and disqualifications can be given to those who fold, disconnect, go into AFK, or practice friendly fire too often. Players who repeatedly display bad behavior will receive harsher penalties. The system used to assess repetitive behavioral disorders has been reformulated into Modern Warfare 2 penalize unscrupulous players and avoid harsh penalties for players who always play correctly or change their game more consistently after being penalized or disqualified.
Another new feature is relegation protection, which will help all players avoid immediate relegation upon promotion to a new division. Once promoted to a higher skill division, players will not lose SR for their first three games in the new division. After this initial defense, if players lose enough SR to risk relegation, players must lose two matches in a row to be relegated from their skill division. Relegation protection also applies to the first three matches of each season.
Two additional features are the “Hot Flame Streak”, which rewards players who manage to achieve more than 3 wins in a row in a 72 hour period, and the addition of Ranked Play Badges on social profiles to showcase this skill division and classification. . V Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ 2.0regardless of the mode you are playing in.
Awards for the winners and the most dedicated players
There are several seasonal rewards for winning this first ranked season, starting with a sticker at 5 wins and a “Pro Issue SMT” blueprint that includes attachments suitable for competitive play that are awarded after 10 wins. Additional rewards along the way include a pendant, decal, and weapon camo loading screen that can be used on any weapon and can be obtained after winning 100 matches.
In terms of rank rewards, in addition to a new calling card every five ranks, there are a few important items, as well as some additional competition-focused cosmetics:
- Rank 5: Competitor Ranking Operator Skin Pack, Home Edition and Away Edition, provided to both male and female CDL Operators.
- Rank 15: A “Pro Issue Sidearm” blueprint that has attachments similar to those used at the highest level of competitive play.
- Rank 30: A new weapon screen that tracks Ranked wins.
- Rank 40: Pro Issue Combat Knife Project, another popular competitive utility weapon.
- Rank 50: Ranked Veteran Operator Skins (Home and Away) are awarded to male and female CDL Operators, demonstrating their commitment to ranked play regardless of their skill division.
In terms of Skill Division rewards, it’s not about where you finish the season, but the highest Skill Division achieved during that season.
Reaching the Bronze and Silver ranks grants a new emblem, while reaching any other skill division, including the top 250, grants two new special operator skins, an animated emblem, and a weapon pendant. You can earn other Skill Division rewards by finishing in a higher (or lower) Division in subsequent seasons.
Iridescent and Top 250 members will also receive an animated calling card, and the #1 ranked player will receive an animated calling card and an exclusive emblem, which can be considered the ultimate bragging right.
