Another Dead by Daylight map is getting the Realm Beyond treatment in the next major update. The Red Forest, home of the Scourge and the Huntress, is going to get a big makeover in the horror game’s next update, and developer Behavior Interactive has shared some beautiful screenshots of the makeover. The update will also include some perk changes and prevent cards from replaying multiple times in a row.
The Red Forest update, according to Behavior, will preserve the map’s visual style and maintain the respective lore of its two killers, while bringing the visuals in line with other maps the developer has updated and redesigned in recent years. .
The new card redo prevention feature will exclude the current card from the pool of possible cards unless a hint is used to save it, says Behavior. This applies to all players in the test: the next map will not include any of the maps that the players in the group last played, and these maps are less likely to be played in future matches.
The update will also bring some perk changes, including Eruption, which is getting a pretty significant nerf. The behavior indicates that the buff turned out to be too powerful not to take and had a huge impact on individual players not being able to alert their teammates running the generator to avoid getting incapacitated.
The developer says it’s changing rash for what causes generators lose 10% of current progress, instead of 10% of total progress, and the buff will no longer apply an incapacitated status to survivors who repair a generator when it shuts down. Instead, the Survivors will yell and betray their positions to the Killer for 10 seconds.
The latest Developer Update article also details some additional perk changes, as well as plans for new outfits.
