The developers of Genshin Impact have posted a response to sexual harassment allegations regarding the English voice actor for their Tignari anime game, Elliot Gindy. The voice actor has been accused of seduction, psychological abuse, blackmail and inappropriate relations with fans, some of whom were allegedly minors at the time.

These allegations were made on February 7 and now Gindi and HoYovere have posted responses to the situation. First, the voice actor acknowledged his actions in the form of a TwitLonger. In his explanation, he admits that he threatened to commit suicide if his misdeeds came to light, but also denies knowingly having a relationship with an underage person.
HoYoverse followed up his statement in response to GamesRadar+ by saying the following:
“We are deeply sorry for the damage caused to our fans, players, community and everyone involved. Our internal teams and external partners, including our voiceover studio, worked together on an urgent solution. And we will keep you posted on the progress.”
It all came to light when a former Gindi Discord server mod named Matty, aka FretCore on Twitter, tweeted google document filled with screenshots of Discord conversations, text messages, and other private messages with sexual content between Gindi and fans. Given the content it contains, we recommend caution when opening it.
The details of the document were sent to Matty by the people Gindi allegedly had this relationship with, as she was a moderator on his Discord at the time. She has since left the server.
Several Genshin Impact voice actors have also spoken out about the situation, including Brianna Panties (Hu Tao) Alexander Saab (Cino) and many others. “The fans completely trust you, and to abuse that trust and take advantage of your position is unfortunate,” said Jackie Lastra, who voices Xiangling. “My heart goes out to the victims. We see you.”
