Italian efootball cup

eFootball Italia Cup is a new esports tournament featuring seven partner clubs from KONAMI: Milan, Monza, Roma, Atalanta, Internazionale, Lazio and Napoli.

In the tournament, three different types of players will team up to represent each of the competing clubs. A selected player from the youth teams of the participating clubs, a professional player who is currently part of the club’s esports team, and a club fan selected in the KONAMICI online qualifier.

Unique Team

While there are several esports tournaments associated with the eFootball franchise, the eFootball Italia Cup presented a truly unique formula.

As in the current eFootball Championship Pro, each team will consist of three players. However, this time there will be only one professional player in the team. Like an open e-football championship, KONAMICI tournament will help you find the best fan to represent your club.

However, unlike other football simulation tournaments, Each eFootball Italia Cup team will have a player from the youth teams or communities of partner clubs selected through the tournaments mentioned above.
These innovative teams represent a turning point in the world of KONAMI esports.

Out of the tournament

While the elements of club-to-club esports tournaments will be highly competitive, as you would expect from Italy’s top clubs, the integration of youth team workshops gives the eFootball Italia Cup an extra depth beyond just competition.

Since only a small percentage of young footballers reach the professional level, and given the unpredictability of the sporting world, most of the workshops focused on showcasing the many possible alternative professional opportunities such as: club partnership management, eSports and gaming, media. digital entertainment and more.

David Monk, Head of Football Activation and Acquisition at KONAMI, said: “L.The eFootball Italia Cup is a very different initiative from those previously run by KONAMI. A distinctive feature is the integration of youth team players and seminars dedicated to them. We wanted to show these young, ambitious footballers that there are many ways to become a part of modern football, including through video games. We believe that providing them with additional knowledge about what is related to their favorite sport can help them understand what they can do when they stop playing professionally. We also hope they enjoyed participating in the tournaments!“.
