A decade has passed, but FromSoftware’s classic series of robot-to-robot games is back with Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and the studio’s producer explained how the experience of creating soul-like games, from Dark Souls to Sekiro and Elden Ring “changed” the gear and experience level, making this Armored Core game the best it can be.

This was revealed by FromSoftware producer Yasutaka Ogura, who appeared in the Armored Core watch segment at the recent Taipei Game Show. Ogura talks about the return of the popular Armored Core 6 series after a ten-year hiatus, and how working on titles like Dark Souls and Elden Ring has changed the studio in the meantime.

Asked about the main differences between Armored Core 6, Ogura replied: “Because between [Armored Core] games, at FromSoftware we have developed many other games ranging from Dark Souls 2 to Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and of course others like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and most recently Elden Ring. All this has changed us.

“The experience and knowledge gained by our game designers and developers with these games could be used in [Armored Core 6]Ogura continues.

Ogura also says that it took a decade to get back to Armored Core 6 because FromSoftware “always had so many different games” that it affected the team’s resource allocation. Given the success of Dark Souls and the genre in general, it’s not surprising that FromSoftware wanted to capitalize on its ideas.

While Hidetaka Miyazaki is not directing Armored Core 6, which is owned by Masaru Yamamura, Ogura mentions that Miyazaki was the original game director for Armored Core 6, which means he was involved in the team’s work at the beginning of the game, as the map. design and actions. the essential.
