Two powerful ancient dragons are coming to Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak next week with the release of the next major update. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Title Update 4 includes the ice dragon Velhana and Valstrax, the ferocious comet dragon first introduced in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. The Fantasy Co-op update drops on February 7th and includes the usual set of new cosmetics, quests, and more.
Velhana first appeared in the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World, and like almost everything in that DLC, she was a dangerous opponent. Able to instantly freeze her prey by manipulating water particles in the surrounding air, Velhana could also shred the bodies of her enemies at will.
Capcom says that even if you know Velhana from Iceborne, you should still keep an eye out this time around: Velhana apparently has a few new tricks up her ice sleeve.
The other new addition to the Elder Dragon lineup coming with Update 4 is Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax, which Capcom says is “one of Subreak’s toughest challenges to date.”
You will be able to fight Velhan starting at Master Rank 10, but you will need to reach at least Master Rank 160 to fight Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax.
Both Elder Dragons arrive with new sets of crafting equipment. The update also raises the level cap for Sunbreak Endgame Anomaly Research to 220. You’ll be able to reach that rank by completing eight-star anomaly research quests, and Capcom says you’ll see Risen Elder Dragons spawn in research (in addition to their own existing quests) from level 111.
The update also includes a host of new paid display cosmetics, so if you don’t mind adding a few extras to look cool, you’ll have some new display options.
