Students from more than 60 universities took part in the first part of the competition. In addition to the competition, the project includes educational activities to familiarize students with the many job opportunities that this sector offers.
Spring split 2023
With the resumption of teaching activity, a second split occurred Amazon UNIVERSITY eSports, the only esports competition dedicated to university students in Italy. After the initial division, which was attended by students from more than 60 universities from all over the country, the competition resumed its competitive and educational activities. Amazon University Esports is present in more than 20 countries on 4 continents and has a strong educational component, reaching out to university students with the goal of offering them both learning opportunities and their first professional experience in the sector.
Registration is open for all five games available for Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports Season Eight: League of Legends, VALORANT, Team battle tactics, Clash Royale AND rocket league. All national qualifier winners of this second split will compete in the Amazon UNIVERSITY Esports Grand Final in their respective modes. In addition, for the first time this year, the finals will take place on the local network, in a location that is currently kept secret.

The increase in competition also reflects the growth of the sector. In fact, total revenues are expected to increase significantly, reaching 40 million euros by 2023. 25% increase over 2022 (31.8 million). The esports sector in Italy is one of the most important markets in Europe, with a penetration rate roughly reaching at least one Italian consumer (48%) between the ages of 16 and 65.
