I struggle to find the words for the introduction that does justice to Steam’s newest platformer, the erratic and energetic Pizza Tower. It’s a platformer that immediately strikes the senses with an invigorating soundtrack, striking visuals, an average Italian fighting plenty of enemies and mushrooms, but that’s about as far as you can imagine from a plumber clad in overalls, and it’s already climbed to the top. from my must-have list.
So what is Pizza Tower? It is a 2D platform game that combines the gameplay of the Wario Land series and the chaotic images of 90’s cartoons like Ren and Stimpy or Ed, Edd n Eddy in a fast-paced game about climbing the famous Pizza Tower. You play as Peppino Spaghetti, a “fat bald Italian” on a revenge mission to destroy Pizza Tower and save your own restaurant by climbing the floors and levels of the tower.
I could try to write some (more) really awful pizza puns to describe Pizza Tower, but a Steam review won me the best description; Instead of being called a Wario, Sonic, or Metroidvania game, Pizza Tower will now be called a “Sonicoidario” game.
Released this month, Pizza Tower has already received “overwhelmingly positive” reviews on Steam with over 1000 reviews and likes, and the Tour De Pizza-developed game definitely boasts a unique visual style and amazing soundtrack, which you can check out on the trailer below. . . .
However, before you head over to Steam and order Domino’s, you should know that Pizza Tower is actually getting a price cut, so you might want to defer buying the game. Tour De Pizza claims you’ve made a mistake with the regional pricing and that it will “drop the price ASAP for most non-US regions, so we would like to hold off on buying the game until this is resolved. ” “.
