The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti has just joined the race for the best graphics cards and it seems to be taking the lead when it comes to sales. Data from the German market shows it outperforming both the AMD Radeon RX 7000 cards and the rest of the RTX 4000 family, but the longtime entry-level favorite follows suit.

A Lovelace sibling that delivers performance that rivals the flagship former. It’s a bit pricey for a 70-series card, but retail stats suggest it could be an option for PC enthusiasts.
On Twitter, GPU tester TechnologyEpiphany shares RTX 4070 Ti sales figures for German retailer Mindfactory, with Nvidia moving 500 units in the third week of January (via Videocardz). For context, the store appears to have moved only 190 RTX 4090 cards and 210 4080 cards, while the Intel Arc A770 is on the podium with 20 total.
In second place is actually the RTX 3060, with 485 graphics cards rolling out of the retailer’s doors. Perhaps not surprising, especially since we’re still waiting for an Nvidia RTX 4060 or Ti variant to shake up the entry-level scene. However, this arguably shows that some PC gamers don’t want to spend more on a new GPU, even though DLSS 3 can boost frame rates to nice levels.
Naturally, TechEpiphany’s statistics are associated with a single German store, and the global numbers may paint a different picture of popularity. As such, it’s worth keeping the success of the RTX 4070 Ti until late 2023, as only time will tell if it remains the favourite. All in all, the RTX 4070 could be a true mid-range GPU gladiator in both price and performance, and that’s probably what enthusiasts have been waiting for.
