Benjamin “bencb” Rolle, CEO Acend Organizations, in a note posted on Twitter, explained to their community the reason for leaving the Halo competitive scene. This is the official press release:

“When we got to the events, we ran into obstacles that prevented us from creating content. HCS tells us that to be a partner team you must be able to create great content, but at events, only partner teams are allowed backstage access and player access to create content.

There will always be times in professional sports when teams are treated unfairly. It happens in every sport. We experienced this at the recent World Cup in our match against eUnited. We were very disappointed with the decision, but the biggest disappointment was how the HCS representatives handled and communicated the whole situation to the team and our organization. Again, despite various attempts to communicate or discuss with someone from HCS during the release and after the event, all of our requests were ignored. We believe, as many participants in the scene assumed, that if everything had turned out differently. Of course, we will never know, and our players suffer the consequences as a result.

Finally, we were disappointed that just a week before the World Championship, it was announced that the money from the crowd run would no longer go to the prize pool. This fact in itself was discouraging, as this tournament was one of the few that benefited all regions of the ecosystem. But to make matters worse, they have proposed redirecting this money to fund partner events that have hitherto been invitation-only or NA-only, directly siphoning funds from international regions and concentrating them in one region.”
