Nearly 25 years later, Black Isle Studios’ original Fallout 2 has been redesigned to include new voice cues for the already modified additional talking heads. The classic isometric RPG is still popular all these years later as the free Fallout 2 FPS game is now available, and this voice line mod is designed to be combined with another to enhance the original Fallout 2 experience naturally. . it will give you energy before the Fallout 5 release date.

In the original Fallout 2, there are 13 “talking heads”, which are close-up portraits that move their mouths and have speaking lines for certain NPCs. These heads were based on pre-made clay models and took a long time to manufacture at the time, so the number of talking heads in Fallout and Fallout 2 was significantly less than originally planned.

However, this is about to change as Goat_Boy’s Talking Heads plugin from last year will be expanded and improved with a new project that wants to give each talking head additional voiceover tracks. The Goat_Boy mod adds over 100 original talking heads to Fallout 2, so there’s a lot of work to be done.

This plugin from Black_Electric is currently in alpha and has an additional 17 talking heads now voiced with over 600 lines of dialogue, but there are “way over 100 characters we’re still looking for.” The volunteer project wants people to submit multiple voice lines for a character they think they can give credit to, and then one person is chosen to voice all the lines.

“It’s a monumental task, spanning around 150 characters and thousands upon thousands of lines of dialogue,” says Black_Electric. “Although we can’t express every one of them, we hope to cover most of them.”

After all that, Fallout 2 continues to win the love, and we even chatted with co-director Fergus Urguhart about why Fallout 2 is one of many defining games in the RPG series.

What’s really amazing to me about this project is not just that it’s a colossal labor of love for Fallout 2, but how the project combines two different mods on a massive scale, and in doing so attempts to act as a natural extension of the original game. . . . I’m sure if Black Isle had had the time, money, and resources for the early development of Fallout 2, the developers would have wanted more talking heads and voiceovers, because they already had a few to see the community come together. and do it themselves.

You can download the Fallout 2 alpha mod right now from Nexus Mods with the aforementioned 17 additional characters and over 600 lines of dialogue, and that’s not all. You can also download the Goat_Boy’s Fallout 2 Talking Heads mod (the one with only the dummy heads) on Nexus Mods.
