Lenovo has announced that it will switch to the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti bandwagon, but the graphics card will only work on Legion systems out of the box. The gaming PC giant’s take on the Lovelace GPU doesn’t break the mold in terms of design, but it could help gamers get a full Lovelace machine for less than before.
Our Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti review examines the chances of being the best graphics card contender, and scores points for being the cheapest of the Lovelace bunch. Starting at $799, it offers features like DLSS 3 and frame generation to help your PC run games at higher frame rates than ever before. It also consumes less power than the RTX 4080 thanks to a reasonable 285W TDP.
As reported by Videocardz, Lenovo RTX 4070 Ti Legion will power Legion Blade 9000K 2023 and 7000K 2023 pre-builds with GeForce graphics. The card itself looks quite familiar, sporting a thick bezel with three slots and three 90mm fans, just like the Gigabyte Eagle OC.
Performance data provided by Lenovo shows the RTX 4070 Ti system to be 19% faster than its previous Legion RTX 3080 Ti machine. Based on our own data for a similarly specced card, the statement should be pretty accurate, but the company’s 3DMark data is based on the capabilities of the entire machine, not just the card.
In a way, the rest of Lenovo’s Legion Blade specs support the idea that the RTX 4070 Ti isn’t a mid-range graphics card. The machines will come with either an i7 or i9 Raptor Lake processor, massive 64GB DDR5 RAM, and 2TB SSD—an undeniably premium combination.
As for pricing, we’re still waiting for Lenovo to spill the beans. The new systems appear to be exclusively available in China as well, but there’s always a chance that we’ll see the gaming PC assembly business expand to other countries in the future.
If any of the RTX 4070 Ti models are a bit pricey for your taste, you might want to check out the Nvidia RTX 4060. The green team’s next graphics card hasn’t been officially announced, but inside information and rumors suggest that the version You are next on Lovelace’s agenda.
