Overwatch 2 arcade is a great way to unwind, giving players the chance to de-stress from ranked play and enjoy Blizzard’s more chaotic or laid-back multiplayer modes. While my initial skepticism evaporated as soon as I started working on Overwatch 2, convincing me that this new setting could be just as fun while maintaining the original’s unique character designs, I’d love the chance to go back in time with the game. .
There is currently no way to play the original Overwatch. The servers went down shortly before the release of Overwatch 2 and Blizzard made the decision to move everyone to the new game and force players to upgrade to the modern version whether they wanted to or not. While the desire to keep everyone together is certainly admirable, for those who miss 6v6, it seems like a reasonable balm to offer them a way to play Overwatch 2.
The introduction of shortened formats isn’t a new idea for Overwatch – right now, in the arcade, you can choose to play the Assault Maps playlist. This includes all maps created for the now-defunct Breach game mode (often referred to as 2CP), which was removed during the transition to Overwatch 2 after a general agreement between players and developers that it too often resulted in ball fights. one-sided snow. or heartbreaking jokes.
