The latest Overwatch 2 patch notes introduce a number of buffs as part of the mid-season update, giving several underpowered heroes a much-needed boost. They arrived alongside the Overwatch 2 Gods powers revealed in The Battle for Olympus, which gives several characters new themed powers to match their god skins in Blizzard’s special FPS event mode.

Game director Aaron Keller notes that the balance patch is “a bit lighter than usual, as some of the planned changes were delayed until the mid-December patch,” which included heavy nerfs to Doomfist and the promise of a hassle-free Roadhog review. A small but noticeable buff to Brig’s shield health, better energy retention for Zarya’s charged energy, and an adjustment on Moira to allow her biotic sphere to regenerate some of her biotic energy when she deals damage, which should help her to keep your healing resources replenished. .

However, the biggest winner is Junker Queen. His passive lifesteal from wounds now heals the remaining damage if the affected enemy dies, granting him slightly more resistance. Additionally, a portion of the impact damage from a direct hit from the jagged sword she throws is now applied as a wound, which stacks with the sword’s memory and melee wounds from her to her fast melee. Finally, her Carnage Ax now reduces her cooldown by 2 seconds per enemy hit.

All of these changes should help the ab-heavy tanky Aussie maintain his health in fights – his Carnage deals damage too, so hitting multiple people with it at once and bringing it back even faster should really help him out. stay healthy. His passive was buffed a while back, increasing self-healing wounds to 125% of the damage dealt, so expect him to be a bit tougher with the new update.

Whether that’s enough to help it stand out against Roadhog, Orisa, and Ramattra all of them looking pretty dominant right now remains to be seen. keller too add that Roadhog’s initial planned changes, which lead hero designer Alec Dawson said would focus on nerfing his one-hit ability, are currently “scheduled for mid-January through late January.”
