AMD Introduces RDNA 3 Gaming Laptop GPU That Outperforms RTX 3060 Desktop

AMD RDNA 3 gaming laptop graphics is now officially available as the gaming PC giant has just announced a new line of mobile devices. This range will accompany the Radeon RX 9700 desktop duo as a mid-range solution, but it won’t compete with Nvidia’s stripped-down RTX 4090.

PC gaming enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting something new, and the best gaming laptops of tomorrow should come with next-generation GPUs. Nvidia has already announced plans to get its RTX 4090 graphics card into portable cases in 2023, but for now the green team seems to be focused on offering premium specs.

At CES 2023, AMD announced its plans for gaming laptops, with four RDNA 3 mobile GPUs in the works. Team Red’s best offering right now is the Radeon RX 7600M XT, a chip with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, 32 GPU cores, and a max TGP of 120W.

The Radeon RX 7600M, RX 7700S, and Radeon RX 7600S will join the 7600M XT in the battlefield of the best graphics cards, and all four models feature the same type of memory and capacity. The main difference in general is in the maximum power consumption and the number of cores, for example, the RX 7600S with a TDP of 50-75W and 28 CPUs.

Specs aside, AMD claims the RX 7600 XT is supported by a full RTX 3060 desktop GPU, an impressive feat considering its low power consumption. Internal testing shows that you can increase frame rates by 24fps in games like Hitman 3 with the maximum 1080p setting enabled, but tools like FSR 3.0 can provide further improvements.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on the new RDNA 3 Super Power Portable Power Station, you’re in luck. AMD Advantage Edition laptops from Asus and Alienware will launch next month, with models planned that pair next-generation Radeon GPUs with recently announced Ryzen 7000 processors.

We plan to test AMD’s new line of RDNA 3 mobile devices when it launches in February 2023. Until then, our Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti review will help you determine if the grass is greener on Nvidia’s desktop side, or if is better to wait. for mid-range alternatives.
