LG at CES 2023: Consumer-Driven Innovation for a Better Life

CEO William Cho emphasized LG’s commitment to creating new value for its customers through breakthrough innovations such as LG OLED, which have completely changed the viewing experience for customers. CEO William Cho provided detailed information on the mobility sector. LG is expanding its business portfolio to cover new areas such as electric vehicle (EV) charging, digital healthcare and content services for the webOS platform. At the same time, the company is increasing investments in key technologies of the future, including artificial intelligence and 6G, and is also collaborating with start-ups through LG NOVA (LG North American Innovation Center).

The CEO also highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts in strategic partnerships with world leaders from a wide variety of industries. Particularly in the content industry, the company is working closely with many valuable partners to bring more content to customers.

At the conference, Cho introduced one of LG’s key content service partners, Tom Ryan, President and CEO of Paramount Streaming. Accordingly, the CEO announced the four finalists for the first prize. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, an innovative challenge created by the company to advance its vision and educate innovators interested in making a positive impact on people’s lives and the planet. Finalists – Day1Lab, Dot Inc., NONA Dessalination and SOLUTUM – will receive support from LG to refine and launch their creative solutions to improve lives for all. After the four teams submit their ideas for the last time on January 16 at the LG Science Park in Seoul, Korea, the total prize pool of $1.05 million will be divided among the four winners according to their ranking in the awards.
