Destiny 2 Dog Seekers who pet an Exo Pup as part of the Seraph Shield Hidden Objective can now pre-order an exclusive Archangel Plush Dog from the Bungie Store.
However, it does take some work to order a luxurious version of the latest addition to the FPS game, as Guardians need to complete a few more tasks before they can order their own.
First, players need to earn the Exotic Pulse Rifle Zero Review. You can get it by completing the Destiny 2 Revision Zero exotic quest titled “More Than Weapons”.
To access the dog, players must first access the mission’s secret bunker room. To do this, you need to use Review Zero to shoot down 50 drones scattered throughout the Destiny 2 game universe.
After shooting all 50 drones, Guardians will want to get the Exo Frame upgrade for safety, as it makes it easier for players to get past the lasers that are blocking the doors during the mission. Note that there are also ways to bypass these lasers using special abilities, so players can complete this challenge without upgrading, although it’s a bit more difficult.
Guardians can then return to the Operation Seraph’s Shield mission, where they can now access the secret door in the boss room for Haroktha, the Helium Drinker’s Nightmare. Upon entering the secret room, solving the puzzle, and progressing through the platforming section, players will see a robot dog. They can then interact with the exodog by petting it.
Doing so will earn players the Guardian’s Best Friend Triumph, which is a prerequisite for ordering the exclusive plush. The plush costs $30 (€35 in the EU) and you also get a special emblem when you buy it. Keep in mind, however, that the plush won’t ship for several months, so players can expect to receive it around March or April.
Even if players aren’t interested in buying the stuffed animal, there’s still a good reason to go after the adorable robot dog. Interacting with the pup also leads him to the HELM, where Guardians can pet their new best friend whenever they want.
Amid recent criticism that Bungie has failed to hide secrets in Destiny 2 for the past few years, the Puppy Petting quest came as a pleasant surprise. Bungie has put a lot of thought into the current season, and Destiny 2 Season 19 has a lot to explore. And with all the content, players can look forward to more exciting reveals as they eagerly await the release date of Destiny 2 Lightfall and Destiny 2 The Strand Subclass.
