Heroes never die, and neither do the Greek gods, at least not completely. Blizzard has announced the Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus event for the FPS game, and it will turn seven heroes into Olympian legends, with a reinvented skill set, in the deathmatch mode that will take place. January 5-19.
Seven Overwatch heroes transform into Greek gods for the Battle of Olympus. As you can see in the trailer below, Junker Queen takes on the mantle of Zeus, with lightning bolts hitting enemies during her rampage ability. The new Ramattra tank reinvents himself as Poseidon with a spinning whirlwind that can rip enemies out of the ground. Lucio plays the floating-footed Hermes and Roadhog becomes the Cyclops Polyphemus.
Widowmaker looks pretty deadly as Medusa with an ability that seems to freeze enemies within range during her ult.
Blizzard says that it will count each individual hero’s kills during the event, and the hero with the most kills at the end will have a statue built in their honor on Ilios.
