New information provided by God of War Ragnarok’s own support studio, Valkyrie Entertainment, leads to speculation that a new God of War game is in development. With the success of the Kratos Saga games over the past few years, there have been rumors that the franchise might explore further.
God of War Ragnarok, the most recent release of the classic franchise, has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike so far. The game also received incredible recognition at last year’s Game Awards, where it received 6 awards out of 10 nominations. Much of the high respect comes from its storytelling, soundtrack and performances. It also broke new ground in the gaming world with over 70 accessibility features to suit the needs of individual gamers. The creators’ offer of an even bigger feature came as somewhat of a surprise, especially so soon after the release of God of War Ragnarok.

The developer is looking for people to work on the new game God of War
Valkyrie Entertainment, which supported the development of God of War Ragnarok, has published an announcement looking for a senior environmental artist. The job description contained some pretty interesting details. Explaining what the studio is currently up to, the description states that there are several AAA titles in development, including the upcoming God of War game. Before fans get too excited about this, it’s worth noting that the explanation can be quite disappointing.

If this is a new game in development, then the hype around this new job posting is proof that fans are already looking forward to the mythological world that developers can explore further. However, it’s worth noting that “the next God of War game” may be an outdated reference to God of War Ragnarok and means absolutely nothing about the rest of the series.
The new God of War series has attracted many new fans while retaining the large fan base established by the original trilogy. Some fans are even hoping that older God of War games will be remastered in the style of the new series. This is another possibility of what the latest job listing could be, although it seems unlikely. Either way, the success of the series is proof that the developers have what it takes to bring Kratos and the world of the gods into this new era of gaming.
The face of Ragnarok
Three years after the events of the previous game, Fimbulwinter is coming to an end (a period of “three consecutive winters without a summer break”), and Ragnarok is predicted to begin when Fimbulwinter ends. Atreus, still reeling from the previous game’s revelations, is looking for answers about his identity as Loki, as well as a way to prevent Ragnarok.
To find out the truth, Kratos and Atreus began to search for answers, searching for the Norse god of war Tyr, who was previously thought to be dead. As they traverse the nine worlds, the duo face new threats, including Thor, the enraged god of thunder, and Freya, his former ally who seeks revenge after the death of her son Baldur at the hands of Kratos. God of War Ragnarok Released in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
