Three years later, we’re excited to announce the return of the Overwatch World Cup in 2023, and the competition will be bigger than ever: a new game, new players, and new ways to make countries and regions stand out on a global scale. We’ll share more details as soon as they’re ready, but you can check out the Overwatch 2023 World Championship preview right now:
In January, we will announce the 36 countries/regions that will be participating in the Overwatch World Cup 2023, as well as open registration with the competition committee. Each competition committee will be responsible for organizing trials in their country and region in accordance with Blizzard’s guidelines.

World Supervision Championship
In addition to regular tryouts, players now have another way to compete for a place on the team: the World Cup Open Test Tournament. In February, at the World Cup test competitions, the winners will be given a place in the team. Players can also apply for regular tryouts in March. You must be Diamond Rank or higher in Competitive Mode to participate in Regular Trials, so it’s best for beginners to start working their way up the ranks!
In June, once the rosters are finalized, the Overwatch World Cup Qualifiers will go through a regional online competition where 16 out of 36 teams will advance to the next stage of the tournament. These 16 teams will face each other on LAN in the fall of 2023 to determine the first world champions from 2019.
