Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward says Building 21 has been shut down, but will return to multiplayer next week.

While the developer has not officially announced the reasons for the ban, it is likely due to player-reported issues in the new mode. It’s an unpredictable and dangerous building interior filled with loot, but the spawn points can be deadly and the NPC enemies are thirsty for blood. Your gear can disappear before you know what’s happening, even if you’re wearing top gear.
On paper, this all seems like a reasonable task, but in practice, Building 21 turned out to be more chaotic than most players expected. Infinity Ward has yet to share what it plans to change or fix, but regardless, Building 21 will be back online within a week.
