Stardew Valley mod overhauls vanilla mechanics and adds taxes

The new Stardew Valley mod aims to completely overhaul the game of farm life by overhauling almost all of the game’s mechanics and delivering a “much more engaging and immersive Vanilla+ experience.” Somewhat similar to the Stardew Valley mod carried over from The Sims, it uses modular mods to help you customize your own experience.

The mod for the standalone game is called “DaLion Modular Game Review” and is developed by the award-winning DaLion. The Stardew Valley mod, which took over a year to complete, improves various parts of the game, but gives you the option to enable or disable, keeping the ideas of the base game.

“This mod is a collection of overhaul mods, each targeting a specific component or mechanic in the game. Together, the modules complement each other to create an enhanced Vanilla+ experience,” says DaLion.

“The modular nature of this mod allows users to select features to their liking while maintaining the deep built-in integration required between the individual modules.”

You can customize professions, weapons and tools, ribbons and iridium pools, and add new ideas. “Professions are the original and most important module,” says Dalion. “Revisit all professions to support more varied and interesting playstyles. It also introduces a new prestige mechanic for very late saves, as well as exciting new supers for combat professions.”

Taxation is also part of the new conservation profession, according to DaLion, and adds a tax system that should give you the “simple but realistic” goal of gobbling up some gold at the end of the game. You can find the Stardew Valley mod on Nexus Mods.
