The festival honors the best games from independent developers around the world in various categories and includes cash prizes for some awards. Entries can be submitted free of charge through the BIG Festival website and the deadline is February 28, 2023 at 23:59 (Brazil time). All types of games, published or unpublished, from any platform, will be accepted as long as they can be played by the Festival Selection Committee. Games that have already been released for sale will be accepted if they were released no later than two years before the date of the festival.
BIG Festival 2023 will be the biggest ever
The last BIG festival, held in 2022, was the largest event to date. In addition to hosting approximately 30,000 attendees and bringing together over 1,300 professionals and 669 companies, the event has attracted over $100 million in new business prospects during the 6,000 business meetings scheduled during the days of the festival.
For the 2023 edition, both the number of participants and the number of deals in the business are expected to be record highs, with an estimated audience of 50,000. The organization of the event confirmed that the space is twice as large to accommodate more fans, companies and industry professionals.
