PC gaming enthusiasts have expressed their love for Dark Souls by creating a cute version that reflects FromSoftware’s favorite gothic genres. If you want to pay homage to the “hard as nails” series, maybe by getting down on your knees and praising the sun or something, then check out this setup.
Reddit user ObbiK uploaded a series of photos of the world’s first custom gaming PC showing off some instantly recognizable aspects of Dark Souls 3. The sidebar features your chosen undead, with various minifigures adorning the interior. of the machine, including Knight Artorias and a Mimic. . Probably the best thing about this release is the little in-game vignette of Katarina and the Onion Knight Siegmeyer de Soler lounging by the fire.
Based on the specs, this setup has an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor and Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics, so it’s a decent build, but it’s probably not the best gaming PC by today’s standards. The fact that it encapsulates Dark Souls sets it apart though, with a fan-sided sword motif and dark lighting, not to mention the aforementioned boss really selling the dark RPG’s punishing factor.
While the images ObbiK posted to Reddit are enough to do the project justice, an accompanying YouTube video shows the build process. The video is not in English, but that does not prevent you from seeing the assembly of the rig.
That so many gaming PC fans are still showing off their own systems is pretty compelling evidence for the community. From a PS5-sized bedroom build to a love letter to the final boss of Doom, this is a tight-knit gathering of like-minded people proving that PC doesn’t have to be bland and boring.
