Destiny 2 Warmind Cells is not releasing Seraph seasonal weapons, so some players are scratching their heads over Bungie’s decision to focus on weapons in Destiny 2 Season 19.

When the Destiny 2 Season 19 trailer dropped, Guardians were excited to learn that the upcoming season would focus on Rasputin, the great AI Warmind. The plot revolves around the witness’s attempt to control military satellites, with the apparent help of Xivu Arata.

The Rasputin-themed season immediately forced players to focus on Warmind Cell-centric character builds. The season title “Season of the Seraph” also seemed to emphasize the Warmind slots, as the game’s previous Seraph weapon classes, called the Seventh Seraph Weapon, had the slots removed.

However, the Guardians were quick to notice that the game’s seasonal weapons were not resetting Warmind slots.

In a Reddit post titled “New Seasonal Weapons Don’t Generate Heat Cells” upvoted over 1300 times, u/Zevvion notes that they were excited about the Seasonal Glaive, Pulse Rifle, and Bow due to waiting for those Seraphim weapons to reset the warmup cells However, even with 100+ kills with the pulse rifle, the player says he has no warmup slots.

The Bungie team’s decision to ignore Warmth Cells was disappointing to some players who expected the weapon to be equipped with the power of Warmth Cells like Seraph weapons of the past. The confusion arises because the Season Weapon is not a Seventh Seraph weapon and does not have a Seraph in its name. Instead, it is a Clovis Bray Seraphim weapon, which confuses players.

However, all IKELOS weapons continue to drop in Warmind slots and can be crafted this season as well. So while seasonal weapons don’t offer slots, there are still ways to get new weapons with these mods.

Warmind slots are orbs that drop from certain exotic weapons and builds, though the most common drop slots are weapons from the IKELOS and Seventh Seraph families. When Heater Cells drop from this weapon, players can shoot them, causing them to explode, dealing AoE damage or other effects. Although Bungie has weakened Cells in the past, they are still extremely powerful.

However, in recent seasons, Warmind Cells have given way to other armor mod-based effects, such as Charged with Light and Elemental Well buffs. Some players suspect that Bungie intended to remove Warmind Cells from the space game at some point, but decided against it following the team’s decision not to remove any more content from the game.

A Rasputin-based season would provide a great opportunity to once again focus on cellular heating. Some players have speculated that weapons in the upcoming dungeon will drop weapons that will also drop Warmind Cells, though this has not been confirmed.

The developers at Bungie have said that the popular FPS game will have more ways to produce Warmind Cells this season, leading some Guardians to believe this means there will be an option other than Seventh Seraph weapons and weapons: IKELOS. Whether this means weapons in dungeons or exotics at the end of the season will drop those slots, though, remains to be seen.
