During an interview with Eurogamer, Philip Weber (former senior quest designer and Cyberpunk 2077 coordinator, current narrative director of the new The Witcher game) talked about how the development of the title has shifted to focus on fixing bugs, given the various issues that have arisen and the inability to add new features. .

“The priority was to make the core experience work best for the players…shifting priorities meant abandoning other R&D projects…Instead of focusing primarily on one big online experience, we focused on making online for all of our franchises one day,” said Weber. “We’re building online technologies that can be easily integrated into the development of our future games.
