Organization eSports Panda Globalwith a note posted on Twitter, announced that Alan Bunneythe CEO of the company immediately resigned from his position.
Alan will replace the Interim Management Committee (IMC). The identity of the IMC will remain a mystery for the foreseeable future. But Alan Bunney will remain the owner of Panda Global. This is the club’s official statement:
“Panda has listened to the concerns of the Smash community and is taking immediate action. Alan is no longer CEO, effective immediately. In the meantime, Panda employees are working with outside consultants to set up an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to act as CEO to manage this critical moment. The identities of the IMC members will not be made public at this time due to harassment and security concerns.
IMC’s immediate priorities are: Working with all team members who want to retire, including releasing themselves from any contractual obligations. Support those who feel displaced by these events to find a home, whether with Panda or another organization.
We ask the community to treat those affected by these events with grace and understanding and to report any attempts at doxing or harassment.
In addition, due to the safety of our employees and contractors, the Panda Cup Final has been postponed. IMC will be working on a refund for everyone who signed up in the coming weeks. Panda is committed to showing its commitment to the community and to all who share our passion. Panda is committed to doing its part to take the competitive Smash community above its current situation, starting with an internal restructuring and re-issuing of our values as members of that community.”
