New Ramattra Tank and Shambhali Monastery Map

Ramattra arrives on the front lines of Overwatch 2 as the newest hero. Reflecting its revolutionary goals, the Ramattra is the first tank to be completely shapeshifting, changing its attacks and playstyle throughout the match.

On our new escort map, Shambhala Monastery, we will follow the path that countless omnics have traveled in search of the protection of its walls. Outdo opponents in the battle for dominance of what was once home to Zenyatta and Ramattra.

New season, new balance

Overwatch 2 Season 2

The new season of Overwatch 2 brings another round of balance changes to bring some heroes in line with the rest of the competitive roster. Stats and player feedback indicate that Sojourn dominates the highest levels of competitive play and continues to be a problem for players who do not have the same level of mechanical expertise. In response to the high level of skill, in Season 2 we will be focusing on the range of the Railgun, which will encourage Sojorn players to use their movement abilities to get in close and land more devastating concentrated shots.

Doomfist will be undergoing major changes to better fit its role on the front lines without losing its playstyle and personality. We will also be making changes to Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra when the update releases on December 6th.

Reaching Favorite Community Destinations

With the new season comes a new rotation of cards. In addition to our new Shambhala Monastery map, players will see the return of their beloved Rialto and Blizzard World’s most incredible location (some attractions may be closed due to weather). We will also visit the Oasis and Nepal at different times of the day and say goodbye to Hollywood and the Observatory: Gibraltar. Keep in mind that out-of-rotation maps are still available in custom games.

Greek mythology and the battle for Olympus

Season 2 will have a theme worthy of gods and legends: Greek mythology! The main reward of the Season 2 Premium Battle Pass will be the brand new Mythical Queen Juncker Zeus skin. This skin will bring new settings, weapon models, voice lines and special effects. Step into the glory of the divine companions and earn the legendary Ramattra Poseidon and Farrah Hades skins as you progress through the Premium Battle Pass.

Moreover, these and many other heroes will be endowed with holy powers in the new Battle for Olympus mode. This new limited-time event will be available from January 5th to January 19th. Keep an eye out for skins coming this season. They can tell you what will happen in the Battle for Olympus!

Seasonal Events and Twitch Drops

We’re bringing back the Frozen Paradise and Lunar New Year events with new and improved rewards. This season, every event, including the Battle for Olympus, will have a different skin that can be earned by playing and completing quests, including the Epic Ice Queen Brigid and Mercy’s Legendary Winged Victory and Echoes of Kkachi.

You can earn even more Season 2 trophies by following your favorite Overwatch 2 streamers on Twitch. Expect the legendary Ramattra skin and other Twitch items this season!

Hero Unlock Challenges

In Season 2, we will offer new challenges for players to take on new heroes they haven’t unlocked yet. Those who didn’t unlock Kiriko in Season 1 or didn’t reach Season 2 will be able to get new heroes by selecting the appropriate challenges that send the player to a training camp to learn skills and then challenge them to win Overwatch matches.

Those who want to skip the challenges can purchase heroes from the in-game store. As a reminder, Overwatch 1 players will automatically receive Sojourn, Queen Junker, and Kiriko if they log in before the end of Season 2. New Overwatch 2 players will receive Sojourn and Junker Queen as a Season 1 login bonus.

What’s in store for the future

Everything about Overwatch is growing: our community, our team, and our game. We are always adapting and improving Overwatch 2 as an ongoing service. Season 2 brings many important content updates and we’re excited to share them with you. We can’t wait to see Ramattra’s impact on the game. Thank you so much for playing Overwatch and we hope you enjoy Season 2!
