Destiny 2 Eliksni Quarter Event Exploit brings infinite gifts

The Destiny 2 Community Event achievement allows players to craft infinite map shards, which players can then donate as part of the current Eliksni Quarter in-game event. This achievement may help explain why the event, which requires 400 million treasures, already surpassed its goal one day after the event launched.

Approximately 12 hours after the Eliksni Quarter community event launched in Destiny 2, players were set to complete it in approximately a week. However, overnight donations topped 400 million to complete the event stage, which may be partly due to an exploit that allows players to deliver an unlimited number of map tiles in the space game.

Players were unable to use Map Shards as rewards until the community reached its first total milestone of 40 million Captain Coins. However, once players reached that number, they quickly became aware of an exploit that allowed them to quickly spawn an unlimited amount of map fragments.

Destiny Tracker shared the exploit via Twitter.

To activate the exploit, players must have the Under One Banner update and unlock the rumored treasure map from the game’s seasonal content. Players must then select a treasure map and then visit the donation area to give all of its coordinates. Switching between the map and the rumored treasure map allows players to drop up to eight map fragments at a time.

Many players have chimed in to say that they have also used the exploit.

The official Bungie support Twitter account has yet to acknowledge the issue or mention a fix. Even if Bungie decides to fix the issue, it may be too late, as players have already taken advantage of the exploit, and it seems like it would be difficult to roll back collections so they no longer take card shards obtained through the exploit into account.

However, if Bungie fixes the exploit, it can also return to players the amounts of personal rewards they would have earned if they had not used the exploit.

It is also unclear if the exploit had a significant impact on the amount of currency generated by the community. While an exploit is a quick and easy way to spawn shards, many players also return their destiny materials at a 1:1 ratio. Many Guardians are looking to get rid of these materials now that these materials are deprecated in Destiny 2 Season 19.

Either way, it looks like the event is coming to an end. Presumably, the story will carry the Guardians into the next season and prepare them for what lies ahead with the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion, which will also introduce the Destiny 2 Strand subclass to the game.
