This laptop from Acer can play all modern games at 1080p at high settings. It can run some esports games at 144 FPS. Acer offers several different display options for the Nitro 5 series, including an excellent FHD IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and fairly good response times for both gaming and everyday use, with 100% sRGB color gamut, wide viewing angles, and nearly 400 nits brightness at maximum setting.

The laptop is still made of matte black plastic with red accents, and the keys now have a white background, which makes the Acer Nitro 5 less flashy. The angular design, red color around the touchpad and red plastic “inserts” are common features of almost all gaming laptops.
Build quality is good. The case is fairly rigid, but the display lid and keyboard have a bit of flex so you can open them more securely. The keyboard has RBG backlighting with four levels of brightness that can be toggled in the companion Nitrosense app. The keys have short travel and very little resistance, and they are quite quiet so they can be used in quiet environments.
