The charging base feels solid and has just the right weight to keep it on the surface. Placing the DualSense controls is pretty straightforward. Although the HyperX variant is slightly bulkier and less attractive than Sony’s own DualSense charging cradle, it connects via a USB-C to USB-A cable without an AC adapter. Personally, this makes the ChargePlay Duo more versatile when it comes to placement.
Charging a completely empty DualSense battery is as good as Sony’s own stand or USB-C cable, and it takes about three hours to fully charge the controller. Like most HyperX offerings, the new ChargePlay Duo for DualSense is a product that does the job perfectly. In terms of design, Sony’s own charger has the advantage, but it can be said that HyperX’s offering is more versatile.
The only problem with HyperX ChargePlay Duo is that there is no charging indicator to let you know when charging is complete. Other than turning the controller on for testing, there is no way to determine how busy it is.
