On N7 Day, BioWare released a new clip from the upcoming Mass Effect game that has some hints of Mass Effect 5. As fans take a closer look at the number sequence and rhythmic mechanical clicks displayed in the video, the only frame focuses on the new mass relay: the gate that allowed travel at speeds greater than the speed of light, and which was destroyed in an instant. endings of the final chapter of the RPG series.
“There’s something we want you to see,” writes Mass Effect project manager Mike Gamble on the BioWare N7 Day blog. “We have intercepted strange images from one of the observing stations in known space. It may be nothing, but…”
The ground relay in the frame rotates around the gas-enshrouded planet, and on its side facing the Sun, the letter “MR 7” is displayed. The unfinished inner ring is tilted on a gyroscopic mechanism that will at some point hold element zero, allowing FTL travel for ships passing through it.
Glad #DayN7 of all the stars! 💫 We found these interesting snapshots that you might want to 🔍 take a closer look.

BioWare modestly urges fans to look “a little closer” at the footage, suggesting hidden clues can be found in the video and providing a link to a high-quality version of the clip. The file is called SA_Intercept_SatheriumSystem_Dock314.mov.
The clip is 25 seconds long and features a booming clicking sound at five-second intervals. The noise resounds three times each time it is heard.
There is blue text in the bottom corner of the video that reads “Vacuum Relay Construction Recording/Monitoring Station Operated by Green Dagger Ltd/Owned by Deepspace Dhow SAV/Ship Captain: Sub-Navarch Soa’Ral Gilian-Jones” .
What does it mean? We do not know yet. However, the reconstruction of the Relay suggests a few things: First, the Relay’s technology was hacked as it is not one of the old Prothean Relays destroyed at the end of Mass Effect 3 (according to the ending). players choose). This, in turn, may indicate that the “destroy” ending is canon and the starting point for the next game in the series.
That’s all we have for now, it seems. “We love bringing this universe to life, and while there’s so much more we want to share with you, that’s for another time,” says Gamble.
