Astralis announced their return on their website Nikolai “dev1ce” Reedts in a team Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The player, born in 1995, who has just completed a season in Sweden in a Ninjas shirt in pajamas, is thus returning to the Danish club where he played in the 2018/21 season. Here is the official press release:

“We have entered into an agreement to transfer Nikolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, which means that with immediate effect he will be reunited with Astralis. “dev1ce” is one of the most influential CS:GO players of all time and a key element of the most successful Counter-Strike team in history.”

Athletic Director of Astralis Casper Hvidtcommented on the return of Nikolai “dev1ce” Ridts to the CS:GO team:

“Nikolay is an exceptional player and person who, under the right conditions, provides invaluable support to his teammates and is one of the best in the world in the PLE role.

For various reasons, he did not participate in official competitions for a long time, but in recent months he has recovered and returns to us with a great desire to help the team.

For the first time in years, we don’t have a big tournament around the corner and we don’t have immediate pressure so we’re taking our time to do the right thing within the team at the right time. This also applies to his return to the tournament. Nikolay will join the group and will immediately work with the coach and the team and I am sure that his presence will make a difference from day one.

I’m glad that we were able to bring a great fan, a fantastic player, a bearer of culture and a true team player to Astralis. This will be one of the cornerstones of what we are building in and around the team.

It is important for me to note that Asger “farlig” Jensen, who has now been replaced by Nikolay, is a talented, dedicated and hardworking player who has gone above and beyond to help the team. There are not many Danish players who would immediately take his place, and we have already begun to work on finding a good solution so that he can continue his development.
