The Steam Deck customization menu has been discovered hidden in the latest beta version of the laptop. Although it currently only contains links to launch videos, other changes made by Valve indicate that other options for decorating the game to your liking may soon be available.
As FlipScreenGames demonstrated, the Steam Deck’s hidden customization menu can be uncovered by activating Valve’s internal developer menu. This can be achieved by installing Decky Loader, a software mod that can also be used to find other Steam Deck compatible games.
The appearance of this Steam Deck customization menu more or less confirms that the initial Steam Deck movies will be available for purchase with Steam Points, but are not currently available in the store. We’re much more likely to see listings for Monkey Island and other game series than Futurama and anything else outside of space.
Opening the Steam Deck customization menu also highlights the changes Valve has made to the Steam Points store: what used to be the ‘Steam Deck Keyboards’ tab is now ‘Steam Deck Items’. While this acts as a more comprehensive term for keyboards and startup movies, it also opens up the possibility of custom themes and other options.
