This wooden gaming PC is half the size of the Nvidia RTX 4090.

A gaming PC enthusiast designed a sleek custom wood deck with plenty of room for hardware inside. As impressive as the build is, you can imagine it even smaller when placed next to an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card.

Reddit user mattzzz199 built this “ultra-compact” gaming PC out of Australian ironbark lumber, with a video posted to his MXC Builds YouTube channel showing the process step-by-step. With an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, an Intel Core i3 8100 processor, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM, it’s more of a humble system than a high-end gaming PC, but the fact that it’s all in that mini wooden case makes it stand out. . .

The video itself details how they built their own gaming PC, showing that a number of components, like fake heat sinks, were 3D printed. The IO cover has a matte black finish with a brushed copper finish that has also been applied to the graphics card for a rustic effect.

While the case was Australian Ironbark steel, the motherboard tray is plywood. Looking at how MB sits on it, you can see how little space was wasted by fitting a fully functional PC into such a small chassis.

Of course, you’d cringe at the Nvidia RTX 4090, which is 336mm long. However, comparing the GTX 1050 Ti, which measures 144.78mm, to one of the better graphics card options isn’t entirely fair. This custom gaming PC would no doubt cringe at the sight of Team Green’s latest hardware offering, but then again, the pixel pusher also makes some full-size cases cringe in fear.
