You no longer need to search for the best takedown mods in the world. The latest patch puts them at the top of the sandbox game’s internal mod manager, so finding fun mods to add isn’t hard at all. There are already plenty of popular mods to choose from, including new maps, new tools, giant enemies, and a loyal dog that, yes, you can pet.
The Teardown 1.2 update adds a menu of recommended mods to the mod manager UI. Hit the play button, go to the mod manager and you will find a button for the recommended mods area. Developer Tuxedo Labs not only identified the best takedown mods, but categorized them by type and provided a little explanatory text for each one so you know exactly what you’re getting into.
There’s already a wide range of recommended mods: a new welding tool and other gadgets, intriguing new maps, and even intimidating flying enemy robots if you’re not that into it.
We tried the pets mod as a test of the new system, and it’s very easy to use. As with the Steam Workshop, all you have to do is find the mod you want to try and subscribe. Teardown will load the mod, and when it’s done, you can press a button to toggle it off and on.
Patch 1.2 also adds the Muratori Beach campaign level as a playable sandbox level, so you can head there to take out as many as you like. If you are looking for more personalized content, you can try this Teardown Minecraft mod that players submitted during Early Access.
