Steam Deck continues to establish itself as a powerful portable PC capable of running the latest games at an incredible level of quality and performance. Now it looks like Valve’s handheld is exceeding expectations again, this time with a new PlayStation port.
It turns out that the Steam Deck can run the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection using the Ultra gaming preset while maintaining a constant 30fps. Also, this can be done at a resolution close to the native resolution of the device, 1280×720.
This incredible level of performance has been demonstrated by YouTuber The Phawx, and I can confirm through my own testing that this is possible in Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Unfortunately, there is no way to achieve a stable 60fps, even with AMD FSR 2.0 enabled. However, you’ll notice more consistent frame rates if you allow shaders to compile before jumping into any game.
You can get a solid 40fps with a bit of fiddling, but I honestly think these action games deserve to be played at their best because they still look stunning even on a small handheld screen.
