Although the developer says it’s taking some time, we still won’t see a Saints Row roadmap for post-launch content. Volition says it has decided to put plans to release new content for the open-world game on hold while it focuses on fixing and improving existing content. However, the study says that 2023 will be an exciting year for fans.
“We’ll support Saints Row for the long haul,” Volition said in a recent update, “and while we’d rather talk about roadmaps and expansions, right now we think the focus should be on telling you how we’re doing.” to enhance the Saints Row experience for all players in 2022 and beyond.”
That’s fair enough: as our Saints Row reviewer put it, it’s “marred by a stupidly fun reboot” that’s marred by “questionable physics and some critical AI bugs.” Volition also notes that it can be difficult to tell if co-op is available during a game and that the company is working to clarify this throughout the game.
According to Volition, fans can expect a major patch in late November with over “200 bug fixes and stability improvements.” “We are sorry that these fixes have taken longer than expected while we apply and thoroughly test them.”
So most of the new content isn’t coming for a while, but Volition has a consolation prize: a first post-launch cosmetic set that includes boots, a hat, and a rear-facing car. Strange, but good! Players can expect new story content and entirely new areas of the city to explore in the coming year, according to the studio.
