The unexpected Terraria crossover, revealed in the Terraria 1.4.4 Labor of Love update, delights fans by bringing together two of the best sandbox games on PC. While some collaboration projects, such as the Core Keeper Terraria crossover, have been included in the Terraria Labor of Love patch notes, some others have been kept under wraps. so consider it spoiler alert for this particular addition to one of the best creation games around, though we’re careful not to give anything away too big.

This particular standalone crossover actually includes two separate collectible pets, courtesy of the beloved Stardew Valley farming game. Yes, yes, two of the most beloved indie sandbox games have finally collided in the latest Terraria update, and you can get your hands on Junimo’s pet, as well as ConcernedApe’s iconic rare blue chicken.

In order to obtain Junimo, one of the merry forest spirits found in the Stardew Valley Community Center, and help the player stop the invading efforts of the Joja Corporation, you must first go fishing. With a bit of luck, it may happen that you pull out an empty joja-cola can; you can then take it to a dryad NPC who will tell you “this unnatural drink has a connection to another world” and offer to purify it. This opens a star-shaped portal through which you can glimpse Stardew Valley and gives you a Stardrop Fruit, which can then be used to summon Junimo.

The other pet is a bit easier to obtain, as it can be purchased from the Terraria Travel Cart for 25 gold. This is the blue chicken egg, which, oddly enough, summons a blue chicken pet to your side. The tooltip even notes that “the name tag says ‘Shane,'” suggesting that the rare Stardew Valley blue chicken can only be obtained after befriending the local Shane.

It remains to be seen what other secrets the Terraria Labor of Love update contains – there is so much in the patch that while it seems like most of the hidden secrets have already been revealed, there are likely more to come. In particular, additions like the new biome and Liquid Terraria have incredible potential for even more tricks up their sleeves.
