A new Callisto Protocol trailer has been released, offering a fresh take on the horror game’s sci-fi setting as we explore the deep, dark depths of Black Iron Prison, a maximum security facility built on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. An experiment has failed and pilot Jacob Lee must find out what it was and how to escape.
When the pilot of the freighter Jacob arrives, it is clear that there has been a disaster at Black Iron. Pamphlets with the faces of missing prisoners and workers are plastered everywhere, and in some cases slogans such as “it’s a lie” have been crudely painted on.
“It’s like someone is trying to cover up what’s going on here,” Jacob comments as part of a group of monitors, presumably in the security center.

We also learn that the site where the Dark Iron prison was built was originally some kind of colony and that, like the rest of the Moon, it was completely abandoned at one point.
So, despite the clear signs of a sinister sci-fi experiment involving alien parasites, it seems there’s more going on: maybe Black Iron is just sitting in a graveyard haunted by something even more sinister.
We’ll find out when The Callisto Protocol’s December release date comes out.
