Abragames (Brazilian Digital Game Developers Association) has just announced an unprecedented participation in the Brasil Game Show (BGS), the largest gaming fair in Latin America. In the 2022 edition, the 13th event, which will be held from 6 to 12 October at the Norte Exhibition Center in Sao Paulo, the association will present a stand in the B2B zone, which is a special space for business, where it will take part in meetings and conversations with investors and entrepreneurs interested in the Brazilian game development industry. The meetings will take place on October 6, 7, 10 and 11 and companies interested in negotiating with Abragames can make an appointment.

In addition to the booth, as part of an agreement with BGS, Brazilian studios affiliated with Abragames wishing to participate in the event will receive special negotiation terms for the integration of Avenida Indie, BGS’s indie developer zone.
“Traditionally, BGS has a space dedicated to national production and this is a great opportunity for thousands of visitors to get to know Brazilian games better. At the same time, with this participation, we intend to help partners raise awareness of their projects and strengthen the great moment of the national industry,” explains Carolina Caravana, vice president of Abragames, who considers her first presence at the fair Start for a long term partner.
Rodrigo Terra, President of Abragames, acknowledges the participation and emphasizes the importance of the event for the Brazilian game development industry. “In an Abragames survey published in July, we saw that the number of Brazilian studios increased by 169% between 2018 and 2022. Participation in events such as BGS allows Abragames to reach out to studios that are starting up, as well as closing new businesses and networking with big market players. This movement helps to promote the national market so that it grows more and more.”
“The participation of Abragames is very welcome and we hope that it will become a gateway for dozens of national studios who would like to present their work to hundreds of thousands of people. BGS has always supported independent studios and the partnership with Abragames will be very important to ensure that the national industry is increasingly recognized for its talent and game quality,” concludes Marcelo Tavares, Founder and CEO of Brasil Game Show.
