Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Anime Trailers Announce January Release Date

Anime Nier: Automata has announced a release date with new trailers as the addition of one of the best RPGs follows in the footsteps of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, League of Legends Arcane, Dota 2 Dragon’s Blood, and The Witcher: Nightmare of tea. Wolf to give an anime look to another popular video game series. The trailers give us a glimpse of protagonists 2B and 9S as they embark on their animated adventure.

Game director Yoko Taro and show director Ryoji Masuyama discussed creating and directing the show at Aniplex Online Fest, where trailers were revealed. “When I heard about doing an anime version, I was like, ‘What? So late?’ says Yoko Taro, explaining that he was convinced of the potential of the Aniplex team. Masuyama says that he was eager to challenge the show with the main characters hiding their eyes, because “they are important characters in any anime.”

If you’ve played Nier: Automata, you already know what an emotional journey the game is, so being able to relive it in a new form is sure to get fans excited to see where the anime is headed. Yoko Taro explains that “Nier: Automata was a story we created to be a game, so copying it as-is wouldn’t make for an interesting anime story.” Therefore, we can expect some changes in the narrative; after all, we expect nothing less from Yoko Taro.

Yoko Taro says that she really wanted to change things up, although Aniplex initially insisted that everything stay true to the original story. She even notes the respect Masuyama has for the game, saying in his usual self-deprecating style, “I’m the one who breaks things for them, so if anyone’s upset, it’s probably my fault.”
