Skyrim mods are an integral part of Bethesda’s free-to-download RPGs, ranging from minor gameplay tweaks to major mechanical tweaks. So while you’re waiting for Starfield, why not download an awesome armor set for one of the best RPGs out there?
Designed by Deidranos, Moonguard Armor is a recent mod that adds craftable heavy armor to Skyrim, also taking inspiration from the game’s Khajiit race.
“Moonguard Armor is a heavy craftable armor heavily inspired by the Khajiit,” Deidranos writes of the fantasy game mod. “It seemed to me that there wasn’t a lot of lore-appropriate armor that was exclusively for them, which is why this armor mod was created. The name of the mod comes from Bi-Moon Guard in the Elder Scrolls story.
Despite being inspired by Khajiit, the Skyrim armor mod can be worn by any character of any race and gender. However, there are different meshes for the helmet and breastplate, depending on whether you play Khajiit, Argonian, or any other race.

The Bethesda RPG mod can also be used with any mod, but there are several specific mods that can enhance the experience. The SPID cast patch adds armor to Khajiit Caravan Guards, and can even be worn on a modified Khajiit Himbo body.
Deidranos also says that they have future plans for the Skyrim mod, as new color and texture options for the Moonguard armor, a set of themed weapons, and even subtle smoke around the eyes and mouth are all potential additions. Deidranos says they just need to find “the time and the motivation to do it.”
