Custom Mods for Gaming PCs allowing users to show appreciation for their interest in pop culture, even if the show is half a century old. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the American comedy-drama MASH, often referred to as M*A*S*H, this custom PC comes fully stocked with US Army pigments and accessories.
As everyone knows, the best gaming PC is one that’s built by hand, but also reflects who you are and what you do. Which is why it doesn’t matter that the first episode of MASH aired on September 17, 1972, as Redditor Hawktulu takes the series straight into the 21st century. Hawktulu has uploaded several images of his user system, which is themed from top to bottom in the series.
This aesthetic features an army green PC case with foundry signatures. Inside it features an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card with a special green-brown finish. To complete the theme, they also placed a red cross above the cooler, a small jeep below it, and painted “Property of the US Army.” on the side of the box.
Perhaps the most ingenious thing Hawktulu has done is to insert a Thermaltake Pacific R2 Ultra LCD display above the RAM, which not only cools the memory, but can also play GIFs or display data from the gaming PC, such as CPU temperature. They even posted a link to a short YouTube video showing the MASH characters on a small screen, just to really emphasize their love for the show.
For those of you who remember MASH, 50 years seems like a long time ago, especially since it predates modern drilling rigs as we know them. However, this show apparently had an impact even on the custom PC user community. Even those who have never seen a single episode know how iconic it was for over 11 years. It was also nominated for 100 awards, winning 14 in total.
Seeing PC mods of this caliber is quite inspiring. Obviously there are a lot of talented and dedicated people out there, and the Hawktulu project is just one example.
