Gamera Games revealed in June that the Dyson Sphere show’s combat system was in development for the sci-fi industrial management game, but now says the system won’t be ready to roll out in an early access version until later next year. . However, the developer unveiled a lengthy new trailer at the Tokyo Games Show that gives us our best look at the Dyson Sphere show’s mechanical alien threat, Dark Fog.
The new TGS trailer illustrates how the threat of the dark fog will increase as it becomes a more visible presence in your solar system. When the mist first enters a star system, it settles and begins to multiply, scouring local planets for potential resource gathering sites. At this point, he’ll probably notice your home colony, but while you’re still busy creating your first production sector, Dark Mist won’t take any action, you pose no threat to him.
However, as explained in the second segment of the video, Dark Mist will sit back and take notice once he starts building larger structures like Dyson Spheres and defensive units. Dark Mist’s direct attack will, of course, also significantly increase his threat level.
Dyson Sphere show producer Xun Zhou also talks a bit about how players will be able to determine how much of this threat they want to face, both in difficulty settings and simply by playing a certain way. There are steps you can take to reduce the threat you pose to Black Mist, thereby reducing the difficulty and chance of combat encounters. Or you can choose “Peaceful” mode; this will not remove the Dark Mist from the game, but it will mean that it will leave you alone unless you make the first move and attack it.
Again, the Rise of the Dark Fog update is now set to roll out at the Dyson Sphere program launches for early access sometime in 2023. Youthcat Studios says it’s working on a few things right now, like enemy models and entertainment, and wants to put in extra time. to make sure everything looks and works fine before you push the update.
