The Elden Ring Bugged Shield enchantment is powerful

The Elden Ring shield enchantment is broken during PvP due to delays.

With FromSoftware’s latest patch for Elden Ring, it looks like players have found a new way to shoot opponents with just a shield. The shield sends invisible beings to enemies for an incredible amount of damage.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new PvP exploit.

Carian Retaliation, specifically the Ash of War spell variant, is a skill that allows players to suspend spells to gain multiple people to shoot an enemy. After using the bruises on the revenge shield, people receive three daggers that appear behind their shoulders, after which they stop the enemy’s spell. Due to the bug, players can stop their spells to activate the skill or other consumables to activate it.

Not only is it skill-scale damage based on shield upgrade level, but it also deals a lot more damage than intended. This is a simple setup for an attack that some say instantly kills enemies with 50 strength or less. Also, the magic faces in Carian Retaliation obviously don’t crash into the opponent’s screen. That means there’s no reliable way to get around them without a visual indication of when you should hit the road. Additionally, if the aggressor casts the spell before invading players, the dagger bullets will be completely invisible.

It’s not impossible to block an attack with wheels or using techniques like the Bloodhound Step, but facing it is very difficult. For the most part, FromSoftware should fix this shortcoming soon.
