The League of Legends World Championship Play-In will kick off in Mexico City on September 29th. The twelve teams that will take part in the Play-ins today were divided into two groups of six (A and B).
The format of this first phase is a bit complicated. Essentially, the first of each round goes directly to the next stage of the tournament. While the second to fourth placed teams will face each other in a mini-knockout phase which will proceed as follows: the second classified group A will have to face the winner between the 3rd and 4th classification of group B. The second team of group B will face the winner between the third and fourth classification of group A. These are two groups:
Group A: Fnatic (LEC); Beyond Games (PCS); Detonation FocusMe (LJL); Evil Geniuses (LCS); Loud (CBLOL); Chiefs Esports Club (LCO).
Group B: DRKS (LCC); Royal Never Back Down (LPL); Saigon Buffalo (VCS); Crazy Lions (LEC); Istanbul Wildcats (TCL); Isurus (LLA).
