Nvidia’s PC game bundles are back with a bang as you get a free copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered with select RTX purchases for a limited time. There are some caveats as it is only available at participating retailers and includes GeForce RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090, 3090 Ti graphics cards, gaming PCs or laptops. Whether you’re looking for an entry-level RTX 3060 or a mid-range RTX 3070, you’re unfortunately going to have to deal with a spider hole in your Steam library.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered may have arrived on PC four years after its original release on PS4, but it packs a lot of good stuff from Nvidia. The first is Nvidia RTX On, which is a fancy way of saying it includes ray tracing to enhance shadows and reflections, perfect for viewing the New York skyline and using photo mode.
To keep ray tracing running smoothly, you can enable Nvidia DLSS, a superhero super-sampling technique that uses artificial intelligence to increase frame rates with minimal impact on overall video quality. If you already have a solid 120fps without DLSS, as you probably would with a top-tier graphics card, then Nvidia DLAA is for you.
Developer Insomniac Games has divided the Marvel’s Spider-Man system requirements into four categories. You’ll already meet the basic guidelines if you buy one of the eligible GPUs here, but you can take the PCGameBenchmark test to see if your CPU is ready for zero and answer the question… Can I run Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered?
After a period of uncertainty for graphics cards, it’s good to see free-to-play games becoming a currency again. Whether or not it’s worth it depends on how much you want an upgraded version of Spider-Man, as Nvidia’s RTX 4000-series GPUs are right around the corner, and the AMD Radeon bundle currently offers Saints Row, Forspoken, and Sniper Elite 5. more for a few days.
