Intel Arc GPU information is now clearer than ever, with a page dedicated to the A-series specs. The Q&A post covers all the ins and outs of the Alchemist graphics card, including the difference between the ‘A770 and its “limited edition” counterpart.
Dubbed “Hardware Specs Explained,” the new Intel Arc GPU Hub simplifies the system’s performance level lineup and what to expect from each SKU. There’s also some kind of confession on the page, as the gaming PC giant says that he has so far “thrown breadcrumbs”.
The Arc GPU page has another video with Intel colleague Tom Petersen and CMO Ryan Shrout that serves as a Q&A session. The duo is refining clock speed expectations, as the company’s specs are based on an “average speed” rather than the maximum bar.
Intel says there are four Arc Alchemist desktop SKUs: A380, A580, A750, and A770. The company designates the last two SKUs as “top tier” and the rest as entry-level and mid-tier options. However, the “special limited edition” variants of the A750 and A770 will offer 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM by default, while board partners can opt for 8GB.
Needless to say, Alchemist won’t trade blows with Nvidia’s RTX 4000 or RDNA 3 GPUs, but Intel is looking to offer a compelling performance-for-dollar alternative. The company’s Arc GPU competitor, the RTX 3060, the A770, is scheduled to launch soon, so it could make its way into the cheap gaming PC market rather than compete for the best graphics card later this year.
